All eyes on the skies over downtown Montreal

Military helicopters hovering low over downtown Montreal on Tuesday afternoon created quite a buzz for office workers looking out their windows and pedestrians heading home.

The three helicopters that could be seen circling above 1000 de la Gauchetière St. were part of a Canadian Forces exercise that began around 5 p.m. and was expected to last until midnight.

The military would be briefing media about the nature of the exercise Wednesday afternoon, a military spokesperson said.
