Ron Paul 'Money Bomb' History Staked Free
Market News The Ron Paul fund-raising effort continues to be chronicled at various web sites. A site that has helped pioneer the fund-raising effort of Ron Paul, and been instrumental in the spread of the ideas that his campaign embodies is http://www.ronpaulmoneybomb.com. This site has now placed a fund-raising history on its front page. Music marketer Trevor Lyman has received his share of the credit in the alternative press (including FMNN). But the history presented by the "Money Bomb" site refers to others who apparently helped originate the mass donation day concepts that have proved so popular and raised so much money for Ron Paul - and which amply illustrate a yearning for republicanism that many had believed dead, not dormant. In fact, the concepts embodied in the Ron Paul campaign likely go back to the beginning of human neolithic history, when humans began to gather together to "specialize," performing disparate tasks and creating what today might be referred to as "civilization." From the very beginning - from a sociopolitical viewpoint, anyway - there were seemingly at least two models of human interactions, and variants of in between. One featured the rule of a single powerful individual and his or her supporters - perhaps found in so-called "river empires" like Egypt. The other featured a far more "open" society that allowed the participation of a diverse elite with many points of view. This model can perhaps be seen in Greece, Rome (for a time), Italy and the United States.
(Article continues below) Throughout human history, many advancements can be attributed to the second model of human organization - also known as republicanism. The republican model worked best when there were several or numerous competitive states with similar customs and ideology in a single region. This ensured that no one state would become too repressive since the citizens of that state would be able to migrate elsewhere without a great deal of inconvenience. The principles of modern-day republicanism - as organized and enunciated by Founding Father Thomas Jefferson - have been on the wane in the world's largest republic, the United States. But there is considerable evidence that the Ron Paul campaign, grounded in the Jeffersonian ethic and married to the Internet, has helped bring them back to life. It is for this reason, that the history of the Ron Paul campaign is important and will be scrutinized long after time has stilled the voices and keyboards of those who compare to it other so-called grass-roots American campaigns of the modern era. Below is an excerpt from the "Money Bomb" site (see above) providing a version of the historical fund-raising narrative dealing with the success of the Ron Paul campaign. ===== Someone has defaced and rendered the wikipedia, about the term 'MoneyBomb', as incomplete. The origins have been removed. Just so the origins do not get lost in time and conflict, Jesse Elders, a Jazz musician from New York coined the phrase "MoneyBomb", September of 2007. He began an opt-in email, weekly donations campaign, registering the email address, ronpaulmoneybomb@yahoo.com for pledgers to 'enlist'. The concept was and still is, to generate a sustained weekly cash flow for Ron Paul and to motivate people to donate on more than just one occasion. The Ron Paul Money Bomb website is the eventual outcome of the original opt-in email listing, the website was constructed by Eric Nordstrom, an active duty serviceman, stationed in England. Elders and Nordstrom have been vastly uncredited for the popularity of the term 'MoneyBomb' and subsiquent donation campaigns hve continued to use the Money Bomb theme, set in motion by the two. This website stands as the first Ron Paul donation drive website to generate any funds for the campaign.
