China shows Tibet repairs

Mar 28 - The Chinese government has started to repair the Tibetan city of Lhasa after it quelled riots in the region more than two weeks ago.

A Chinese official in Tibet has also confirmed that a group of Tibetan monks have been shut inside a temple while the government investigates evidence surrounding the Tibetan unrest which broke out earlier in March.

The protests by angry Tibetans sparked controversy over China's human rights record ahead of the Olympic Games due to be held in Beijing this summer.
