The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman says the Russians have not changed their stance on the country's peaceful nuclear activities.

Russia has stressed diplomatic measures and settling Iran's nuclear case through negotiations, Mohammad Ali Hosseini said on Sunday.

Russian officials are in Iran and the negotiations are moving forward in a positive direction, he added. "Certain technical issues remain to be discussed."

Pointing to the delays in the completion of the project, Hosseini urged Russia to fulfill its commitments.

Russia is building Iran's first nuclear power plant in the south of the country, under a 1995 agreement.
