A representative from the Mike Huckabee campaign alleges Tulsa supporters of Rep. Ron Paul sent a fake press release to Tulsa media saying the location of a Friday rally had been changed.

"Unfortunately we have been made aware of some attempts by rogue supporters of Rep. Ron Paul in Tulsa who have reportedly sent a false press release to Tulsa area media," said Scott Pruitt, chairman of Oklahomans for Huckabee and a former state senator, in a press release sent Friday morning.

"The press release was staged to look like it was from the Oklahomans for Huckabee team, but the Paul supporters changed the location of our Tulsa event in an attempt to confuse media and embarrass Gov. Huckabee. This type of behavior is unacceptable."

Paul supporters in Tulsa deny the accusation.

“It is completely against what we believe,” said Jake Snow, a member of the Tulsa Ron Paul Meet-up Group. “That’s not the way we operate at all.”

Snow said he does not know anyone who would have sent the release, and he believes it is an attempt to smear Paul’s campaign in Tulsa.

The false press release was not received by the Tulsa World but reportedly listed a coffee shop in Utica Square as the location instead of Tulsa International Airport, according to a message board posting.
