Yet another anti-NAU resolution has been introduced in a state legislature, signifying a growing distaste for the North American Union.

A recent newsfeed item we posted listed all the legislation that has been introduced in opposition to the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) and the developing North American Union (NAU). On February 15, the Washington House introduced an anti-NAU resolution (HJM 4018) that is very similar to the Senate version (SJM 8004) that was introduced in late January. The legislation, sponsored by state Representatives Roach, Dunn, McCune and Hurst, was read on the House floor and sent to the Committee on Community and Economic Development.

The language in HJM 4018 is similar to anti-NAU resolutions introduced in other states. In part, the legislation reads:

NOW, THEREFORE, Your Memorialists respectfully pray that the Congress of the United States, and particularly the legislative delegation to Congress of the state of Washington, use all of their efforts, energies, and diligence to withdraw the United States from any further participation in the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America and any other bilateral or multilateral activity however named that seeks to advance, authorize, fund, or in any way promote the creation of any structure to accomplish any form of North American Union as herein described.

As always, readers are encouraged to learn more about the NAU by visiting the John Birch Society's North American Union issues page. A well-informed population will certainly foil the plans for merging the United States, Canada in Mexico into one supra-state by demanding Congressional scrutiny on both the state and federal levels.
