It’s like asking the Mafia to investigate its own drug-running and prostitution operations.

“A long awaited Pentagon Inspector General’s report into the Office of Special Plans and its activities surrounding pre-war intelligence in the lead up to the Iraq war has been completed,” writes Larisa Alexandrovna for Raw Story. “According to sources close to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, the classified version of the Pentagon IG’s report will be released to committee members Friday…. it remains unclear how objective the Inspector General’s report will be, given that the Pentagon was tasked with investigating itself.”

Since the Pentagon is neocon occupied territory with an Iran-Contra criminal overseeing daily operations, we can assume objectivity will be tossed out the window. “It’s also uncertain just how much light two to three declassified pages will shed on questions surrounding what many consider a rogue Pentagon intelligence unit created to feed the White House information favoring a case for war.”

Let me guess—it will shed scant light on the “rogue Pentagon intelligence unit,” created at the behest of Israel and its agent, AIPAC, even though we are told “a major focal point” of the IG report concerns the scurrilous neocon, former Deputy Undersecretary for Defense Policy Douglas Feith.

Not only is Feith a virtual Likudite in the service of Israel—he founded a law firm initially based in Israel, Feith & Zell, in essence a lobbying outfit for Israeli, Turkish, and Bosnian interests—he is also a war profiteer, the sort of person at one time strung up from the nearest oak tree.

“Feith’s private business dealings have also raised eyebrows in Washington. In 1999, his firm Feith & Zell formed an alliance with the Israel-based Zell, Goldberg & Co., which resulted in the creation of the Fandz International Law Group,” explains SourceWatch. “According to Fandz’s web site, the law group ‘has recently established a task force dealing with issues and opportunities relating to the recently ended war with Iraq. … and is assisting regional construction and logistics firms to collaborate with contractors from the United States and other coalition countries in implementing infrastructure and other reconstruction projects in Iraq.’”

In other words, not only did Feith play a large part in the invasion of Iraq—current body count, more than 650,000 souls—he also profited from this criminal behavior, thus putting him on par with other morally bankrupt pond scum (Henry Kissinger, Hermann Göring, Oliver North, Augusto Pinochet Ugarte, and various Nazi gauleiters and governors come to mind).

As Alexandrovna notes, the “Phase II investigation [Phase I concentrated on the CIA]” into “Iraq intelligence failures” was “delayed in large part because the Pentagon specifically refused to address Feith’s role and the Office’s activities, stonewalling the Senate’s efforts.” In short, Feith is untouchable—or he is for the moment, as there is no reason to sacrifice him, as Scooter Libby was offered up for sacrifice, although it may turn out that sacrifice is more symbolic than legal, i.e., Scooter will likely never see the inside of a golf course prison, and the chances are Feith, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a PNAC insider, will never see the inside of a jail cell either. Instead, Feith was rewarded for his betrayal of nation and the Constitution—he is now an academic at Georgetown University, infecting impressionable minds with his philosophy.

Feith and fellow members of the neocon criminal coterie—including the likes of Paul Wolfowitz (rewarded handsomely for his criminality, as he is now head honcho at the World Bank loan sharking operation), Richard “Prince of Darkness” Perle, David Wurmser (politely described as a “pro-Israel ideologue,” that is to say he’s an Israel First traitor), Elliott Abrams (yet another “pro-Israel” Iran-Contra criminal), Michael Rubin (a self-professed Likudnik), Michael Ledeen (Machiavelli “scholar” and universal fascist), Abram Shulksy (a Leo Strauss “scholar”), William Luti, Ahmed Chalabi (convicted bank embezzler), Newt Gingrich (washed up politico who hankers to decimate the Constitution and kick off World War Four), and a few choice others—will likely never serve a minute in prison, for as minions of the realm, a realm long ago captured by the neocon faction of neolib one-worlders, are generally beyond reproach and usually don’t suffer even mild upbraid beyond a few lukewarm op-eds published in the corporate media.

As usual, Larisa Alexandrovna has done fine journalistic work for Raw Story, but one cannot help but think all of it is for naught, as Feith and crew, up to and including their cardboard cut-out of a president, appointed to office by hook and crook, will not suffer a moment of ignobility, let alone prison time, as here in America we sincerely enjoy or war criminals, mass murderers, traitors, and foreign agents—folks who at one time were subjected to frontier justice and found swinging at the end of a rope (think Saddam Hussein) from the hangman’s tree—and instead reward them with posh positions in “think tanks” (criminal conspiracy tanks) and elite universities where the next generation or war criminals and accessories before the fact are trained.
